Balo-balo, or bubble plastic, comes in tiny tubes that can be purchased at the market or at small streetside stands. Even a small box contains a lot of tubes along with the straws needed for blowing the bubbles.
Open a tube by piercing the end with a nail, then carefully squeeze out a blob of bubble plastic onto the tip of the tube. Insert the straw into the blob, and blow slowly until a bubble forms and begins to expand. Blow the bubble as big as you dare.
These delicate bubbles can be gently handled and tossed. When a bubble breaks or floats off into the sky, we start all over again with a new bubble.
